I'd turn that around to have 64 bit as the „normal“ case. But then … it has a smell of a bit of heuristic, still (even if it's right 99% of cases). I guess it is safer to have a generic function symbol without _bits suffix for the „native“ size, following the decision of the largefile detection macros in configure. I'm caving in and will add those two wrappers after all for the 1.26.2 release … stay tuned. Alrighty then, Thomas
