Package: drawing Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
Through email I would like to ask you to kindly update the package in the backports. I see a lack of interest on the part of the maintainer to keep this package updated in the Debian archive, if he is not interested in keeping this package up-to-date it is enough to make him an orphan who even I through a sponsor adopt this package. It was only updated due to my emails on the debian mentors list. The maintainer has to think that there are users using the package he maintains and so it is important to keep a package updated with the latest features made available by upstream. I am a developer and I know that small changes can significantly improve software, including one translation and this will reach new users in such a country and language. I asked the maintainer to accept that I already have the package ready to be updated in the backports, just that he sponsors the upload and was denied. I believe it goes against your will and that is not very good on his part. A project of this size is moved by its volunteers, I feel I have a duty to help Debian by using it all these years. I don't do this just thinking about myself and I am aware that other users will be happy to have this package in their workspace updated. I would be grateful if someone reopens the bug report #963468 and makes this update possible. I offer myself if you want a co maintainer.
