Package: libnetcdf-mpi-dev Version: 1:4.7.3-2+b1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
It looks like the libnetcdf-mpi family of packages are indeed built against MPI/parallel HDF5, however contrary to my expectations they do not provide parallel support, i.e. NC_HAS_PARALLEL4 and NC_HAS_PARALLEL are both set to 0 in /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/netcdf/mpi/include/netcdf_meta.h I don't know if that was the intended behaviour. In case this is, it could be useful to document it in the package description. Otherwise, I believe one would need to pass -DENABLE_PARALLEL4 to cmake around line 54 of https://salsa.debian.org/mckinstry/netcdf/-/blob/0fdee46b5f85ea7ceb5dffd863a4258afbd3fb35/debian/rules Best regards, Julien -- System Information: Debian Release: bullseye/sid APT prefers unstable-debug APT policy: (500, 'unstable-debug'), (500, 'testing-debug'), (500, 'stable-debug'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental-debug'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 5.6.0-2-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system)
