Package: mitmproxy Version: 4.0.4-5 Severity: wishlist Dear Maintainer,
I would like mitmproxy 5.1.1 (or newer) packaged in debian. In part, I have had had numerous incidental issues with certificate acceptance with specific browser versions not documented in this bug, and considerable improvements in upstream code since the 4.x series. Upstream only provide separate 'binaries' and 'wheel' packages, whereas the debian packages are much more convenient with pydoc3 sources working, examples available, related libraries installed, and so-on. Secondly, this is likely to incidentally help other bugs such as #959180. I note upstream seem basically to not support the version in debian any more. As such, please consider packaging new version into sid/experimental, With many thanks, -- System Information: Debian Release: 10.4 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'oldstable-updates'), (500, 'stable'), (500, 'oldstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 5.6.0-2-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_WARN, TAINT_OOT_MODULE, TAINT_UNSIGNED_MODULE Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_GB:en (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages mitmproxy depends on: ii dpkg 1.19.7 ii fonts-font-awesome 5.0.10+really4.7.0~dfsg-1 ii python3 3.7.3-1 ii python3-blinker 1.4+dfsg1-0.2 ii python3-brotli 1.0.7-2 ii python3-certifi 2018.8.24-1 ii python3-click 7.0-1 ii python3-cryptography 2.6.1-3+deb10u2 ii python3-h11 0.8.1-1 ii python3-h2 3.0.1-4 ii python3-hyperframe 5.1.0-1 ii python3-kaitaistruct 0.8-1 ii python3-ldap3 2.4.1-1 ii python3-openssl 19.0.0-1 ii python3-passlib 1.7.1-1 ii python3-pkg-resources 40.8.0-1 ii python3-pyasn1 0.4.2-3 ii python3-pyparsing 2.2.0+dfsg1-2 ii python3-pyperclip 1.6.4-1 ii python3-ruamel.yaml 0.15.34-1+b1 ii python3-sortedcontainers 2.0.4-1 ii python3-tornado 5.1.1-4 ii python3-urwid 2.0.1-2+b1 ii python3-wsproto 0.11.0-2 mitmproxy recommends no packages. mitmproxy suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
