The documentation and package description for mailutils claims that GSSAPI is supported for imap. While imap4d does support gssapi, the client programs do not, because there is no support for gssapi in libmailutils. This is not a wishlist item as things stand, because the programs do not behave as the documentation claims. If the documentation is fixed, then this becomes a (very important) wishlist item. Why very important?
