I rebuilt firefox-esr/68.8.0esr-1, after modifying debian/rules as shown in the above mentioned patch. I tested this patched version of firefox-esr, but the microphone was still unseen by the browser. Hence, I would say that the patch does not change anything with respect to the microphone bug. By looking at the bug log, I see that at least two other users confirm they also experience the issue. Did you manage to reproduce the bug? Have you found a fix or, at least, a workaround?
