Package: module-assistant Severity: minor Tags: l10n patch Hi,
In the po directory of the current source package: $ msgfmt --statistics fr.po 103 translated messages. $ make [...] $ msgfmt --statistics fr.po 100 translated messages, 2 fuzzy translations, 1 untranslated message. This is problematic for the l10n infrastructure, as it doesn't allow us to detect outdated translations (for example see http://www.debian.org/intl/l10n/po/fr) and the translators have to understand the build process before starting a new translation. The common solution is to update the po files in the clean target, so in your case by applying the following change in po/Makefile: - clean: + clean: $(POFILES) I would also recommand to add the following line: .PHONY: $(POFILES) This is needed because of the following situation: day 1: update of messages.pot day 2: beginning of a new translation, for example fr.po, by fetching the messages.pot of the day 1 day 3: new update of messages.pot day 4: end of the translation of fr.po According to the timestamps, fr.po is newer than messages.pot, so the update made on day 3 won't be merged into the new fr.po. Cheers, -- Thomas Huriaux
