The out-of-tree (e.g. nvidia) kernel modules need to be compiled with the same version as the kernel was built. This usually works out-of-the-box for the Debian kernel headers (they depend on and call the correct compiler version), but I have no idea about others. I'll close this bug report now. Andreas
