Not really an Emacs bug then, and seems rather vague for reassigning to Gnome or whatever. I was under the impression that the recommended way to start an input method is to click and drool somewhere deep within the Gnome internationalization and accessibility options, rather than explicitly start a program at session login. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/IBus#GNOME has some guidance, though it's obviously for Arch, not Debian. https://wiki.debian.org/InputMethodBuster suggests running im-config as a prerequisite (probably not necessary here?) then using Gnome Settings > Region & Languages > Input Sources Sorry if this is misleading, irrelevant, or trivial. -- If this were a real .signature, it would suck less. Well, maybe not.
