The audio recording feature of current kdenlive will only work if gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad is already installed. Otherwise it will fail since QMediaRecorder function depends on gstreamer plugins. I tested with gstreamer1.0-plugins-good and gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad seperately. gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad install fixed this issue. Error reported: start recording 2 QMediaRecorder::FormatError : Failed to build media capture pipeline. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ERROR : QMediarecorder - Capture failed Please add gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad to the dependency list.
