Hello, This bug is the reason for the FTBFS of libspiro on Alpha and presumably on HPPA also.
It is fixed upstream in commit: 35233450c922787dad42321e359e5229ff470a1e I have verified that building on Alpha with that commit as a patch in Debian source results in a successful build. Cheers, Michael.
