Package: sddm Version: 0.18.0-1 I just upgrade my two systems to buster and experience on both systems now frequent (not always) crashes when login in using sddm. The screen gets black, the cursor blinks in the upper left corner but nothing happens. Killing X/sddm with Ctrl+Alt+Backspace helps and makes sddm reapper.
There is a promising update to the package in version 0.18.1: "Fix crashes when creating a user session", cf. https://github.com/sddm/sddm/blob/v0.18.1/ChangeLog This version is however only included in bullseye / unstable, yet installing that would require additional library updates (libqt5core5a, libgcc). I would like to stick to the buster stable release. Judging from the upstream changelog, I recommend considering updating the buster sddm package to the bugfixed 0.18.1 upstream version. I would be happy to test a 0.18.1-1 package built for buster. Thanks for all your work, Ralf
