dbus-glib is a deprecated D-Bus library with some significant design
flaws, and is essentially unmaintained. As announced in [0], I would
like to minimize its use, and eventually remove it from Debian.
cinnamon-control-center Build-Depends on libdbus-glib-1-dev, and has a
configure check "PKG_CHECK_MODULES(DATETIME_PANEL, ... dbus-glib-1)".
However, it doesn't actually seem to *use* dbus-glib anywhere, and NEWS
says "configure: datetime panel do not depend on dbus-glib anymore",
so this dependency and check can probably be dropped without any real
code changes.
If cinnamon-control-center has other uses of dbus-glib that I have missed,
please see [0] for how to proceed.
