Package: apt Version: 0.6.43.3 Severity: normal
(Please see also BTS bug 360775.) dist-upgrade apparently failed to remove obsolete packages from Woody. I tried to dist-upgrade from unstable to unstable, and got a conflict between gnome-games-data and gnome-card-games. I filed a bug against gnome-games-data, but that package's maintainer replied that gnome-card-games is from Woody and "upgrading from Woody is not supported". But I am running unstable, not Woody, and have been running unstable for many, many months. This means that for the past couple of years or so, apt-get dist-upgrade never realized that it should delete gnome-card-games from my system. -- Package-specific info: -- apt-config dump -- APT ""; APT::Architecture "i386"; APT::Build-Essential ""; APT::Build-Essential:: "build-essential"; APT::Cache-Limit "16777216"; Dir "/"; Dir::State "var/lib/apt/"; Dir::State::lists "lists/"; Dir::State::cdroms "cdroms.list"; Dir::State::userstatus "status.user"; Dir::State::status "/var/lib/dpkg/status"; Dir::Cache "var/cache/apt/"; Dir::Cache::archives "archives/"; Dir::Cache::srcpkgcache "srcpkgcache.bin"; Dir::Cache::pkgcache "pkgcache.bin"; Dir::Etc "etc/apt/"; Dir::Etc::sourcelist "sources.list"; Dir::Etc::sourceparts "sources.list.d"; Dir::Etc::vendorlist "vendors.list"; Dir::Etc::vendorparts "vendors.list.d"; Dir::Etc::main "apt.conf"; Dir::Etc::parts "apt.conf.d"; Dir::Etc::preferences "preferences"; Dir::Bin ""; Dir::Bin::methods "/usr/lib/apt/methods"; Dir::Bin::dpkg "/usr/bin/dpkg"; DPkg ""; DPkg::Pre-Install-Pkgs ""; DPkg::Pre-Install-Pkgs:: "/usr/sbin/dpkg-preconfigure --apt || true"; Acquire ""; Acquire::http ""; Acquire::http::Proxy "http://proxy:3128"; -- (no /etc/apt/preferences present) -- -- /etc/apt/sources.list -- ##deb http://non-us.debian.org/debian-non-US unstable/non-US main contrib non-free ##deb-src http://non-us.debian.org/debian-non-US unstable/non-US main contrib non-free #deb http://mirrors.kernel.org/debian/ unstable main non-free contrib #deb-src http://mirrors.kernel.org/debian/ unstable main non-free contrib deb http://http.us.debian.org/debian/ unstable main non-free contrib deb-src http://http.us.debian.org/debian/ unstable main non-free contrib #deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ unstable main non-free contrib #deb-src http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ unstable main non-free contrib deb http://security.debian.org/ stable/updates main contrib non-free # scim-anthy is now part of Debian proper #deb http://everybody.good-day.net/~ikuya/debian/sarge/scim-misc/ ./ #deb http://everybody.good-day.net/~ikuya/debian/sarge/anthy-ss/ ./ -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.4.28-ow1 Locale: LANG=zh_TW.Big5, LC_CTYPE=zh_TW.Big5 (charmap=BIG5) Versions of packages apt depends on: ii libc6 2.3.6-4 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libgcc1 1:4.1.0-1 GCC support library ii libstdc++6 4.1.0-1 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 Versions of packages apt recommends: pn debian-archive-keyring <none> (no description available) -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
