Bad, I'm afraid. Version numbers are consumed by humans. A human who reads `1.0-2' knows that this corresponds to upstream version 1.0 and is Debian revision 2. If you see `1.0+2' you think `there is some screwup with the upstream version numbering; maybe upstream release multiple versions with the same number or something?'.
