shows that Lightning is involved into the issue and maybe the root of
it. But not Thunderbird itself.

As I expected. As written on the wiki page, quite most of such issues,
like this report is about, are caused by outdated or somehow faulty
AddOns or some user modified configuration.

These are more or less easy to migrate as these are just files.

Address books are also easy, just copy all *.mab files into the new
profile, or export them within the UI

But there are also some AddOns which can help with such tasks.
