Package: python-stdnum Version: 1.5-1 The problem is that from January 1st, Dutch BTW (VAT) numbers can have two valid formats, and python stdnum < 1.13 only understands the old format. This creates various failures in downstream application software that relies on stdnum.nl.btw accepting all valid VAT numbers.
See https://github.com/arthurdejong/python-stdnum/issues/182 The btw-identificatienummer has been introduced on January 1st 2020 in the Netherlands as an alternative to the btw-nummer that contains the BSN personal identifier. The number has the same structure and function but does not contain a BSN and uses a different check digit algorithm.
