Package: dovecot-imapd Version: 1:2.3.4.1-5+deb10u1 Severity: important Since upgrading to Debian 10 several mailboxes have started failing to open/read, apparently due to some cache corruption or some format change between versions. The logs show errors like:
read(FILENAME) failed: Cached message size larger than expected (4627 > 4537, box=NAME, UID=64) (read reason=) and imapd exits with no obvious way to recover the mailbox. This renders the affected mailboxes unusable. It looks like this is a known issue upstream which has been resolved. -- System Information: Debian Release: 10.3 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 5.1.17-x86_64-linode128 (SMP w/2 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages dovecot-imapd depends on: ii dovecot-core 1:2.3.4.1-5+deb10u1 ii libbz2-1.0 1.0.6-9.2~deb10u1 ii libc6 2.28-10 ii liblz4-1 1.8.3-1 ii liblzma5 5.2.4-1 ii ucf 3.0038+nmu1 ii zlib1g 1:1.2.11.dfsg-1 dovecot-imapd recommends no packages.
