I already uploaded a fix, I think that using the version as it is in the source code is fine. I would have a slight preference towards using 2.1.5 such that you can identify that this is not the 2.1.4 stable release if there are problems to troubleshoot, but I wouldn't patch it in a Debian specific way to avoid confusing non-Debian users that may be expecting whatever is already in the sources.
