Package: ausweisapp2 Version: 1.20.0-1 Severity: important Hi John,
I'm trying to run ausweisapp2 on gnome. I tried running it via terminal, and also get terminal output. But it's impossible for me to get it to show an UI. Running it again on another terminal will create the following output on the first one: network 2020.02.20 21:53:05.987 160492 HttpRequest::insertHeader(network/HttpRequest.cpp:224) : Header | "Host": "127.0.0.1:24727" network 2020.02.20 21:53:05.987 160492 HttpRequest::insertHeader(network/HttpRequest.cpp:224) : Header | "User-Agent": "AusweisApp2/1.20.0 (TR-03124/1.3)" network 2020.02.20 21:53:05.987 160492 HttpRequest::insertHeader(network/HttpRequest.cpp:224) : Header | "Connection": "Keep-Alive" network 2020.02.20 21:53:05.987 160492 HttpRequest::insertHeader(network/HttpRequest.cpp:224) : Header | "Accept-Encoding": "gzip, deflate" network 2020.02.20 21:53:05.987 160492 HttpRequest::insertHeader(network/HttpRequest.cpp:224) : Header | "Accept-Language": "en-US,*" network 2020.02.20 21:53:05.987 160492 HttpRequest::onHeadersComplete(network/HttpRequest.cpp:181) : "GET" | QUrl("/eID-Client?Status") network 2020.02.20 21:53:05.987 160492 HttpRequest::onHeadersComplete(network/HttpRequest.cpp:182) : Header completed network 2020.02.20 21:53:05.987 160492 HttpRequest::onMessageComplete(network/HttpRequest.cpp:172) : Message completed activation 2020.02.20 21:53:05.987 160492 ...:onNewRequest(activation/webservice/WebserviceActivationHandler.cpp:98) : Request type: status activation 2020.02.20 21:53:05.987 160492 ...tatusRequest(activation/webservice/WebserviceActivationHandler.cpp:226) : Create response with status format: PLAIN network 2020.02.20 21:53:05.989 160492 HttpRequest::insertHeader(network/HttpRequest.cpp:224) : Header | "Host": "127.0.0.1:24727" network 2020.02.20 21:53:05.989 160492 HttpRequest::insertHeader(network/HttpRequest.cpp:224) : Header | "User-Agent": "AusweisApp2/1.20.0 (TR-03124/1.3)" network 2020.02.20 21:53:05.989 160492 HttpRequest::insertHeader(network/HttpRequest.cpp:224) : Header | "Connection": "Keep-Alive" network 2020.02.20 21:53:05.989 160492 HttpRequest::insertHeader(network/HttpRequest.cpp:224) : Header | "Accept-Encoding": "gzip, deflate" network 2020.02.20 21:53:05.989 160492 HttpRequest::insertHeader(network/HttpRequest.cpp:224) : Header | "Accept-Language": "en-US,*" network 2020.02.20 21:53:05.989 160492 HttpRequest::onHeadersComplete(network/HttpRequest.cpp:181) : "GET" | QUrl("/eID-Client?ShowUI=CURRENT") network 2020.02.20 21:53:05.989 160492 HttpRequest::onHeadersComplete(network/HttpRequest.cpp:182) : Header completed network 2020.02.20 21:53:05.989 160492 HttpRequest::onMessageComplete(network/HttpRequest.cpp:172) : Message completed activation 2020.02.20 21:53:05.989 160492 ...:onNewRequest(activation/webservice/WebserviceActivationHandler.cpp:91) : Request type: showui So it seems like it *should* be raised somewhere, but still no UI visible. At the start of ausweisapp2 following output was shown: Warning: Ignoring XDG_SESSION_TYPE=wayland on Gnome. Use QT_QPA_PLATFORM=wayland to run on Wayland anyway. For the fun of it, I installed qtwayland5 and tried running it with: QT_QPA_PLATFORM=wayland AusweisApp2 However, the problem still persists (no GUI). I tried authenticating in on a German government site via ausweisapp2, but the connection stalls, and eventually times out. I'm assuming that the GUI is waiting for some kind of confirmation, or the PIN. It would be great if we could get it to also work on gnome, I'm assuming it works on other DEs.
