Hello and sorry for the long delay (I had been busy in too many things...). I tried the test you suggested and found out that the virtual machine fails to boot! The attached screenshot is what is shown in the graphical window... seemingly forever. I haven't even tried to connect to /tmp/ttyS0, as I guess a virtual machine that fails to boot will never bring the serial terminal emulator up and running...
