Package: procps Version: 2:3.3.16-1 Severity: important After an upgrade, my .toprc can no longer be read. This might be related to the discussions we had around #784740 where this happened again, and we, in addition, found that those files are locale- dependent, but it also happens in the C locale, for which my /etc/skel/.toprc was written:
tglase@tglase-nb:~ $ LC_ALL=C top top: window entry #1 corrupt, please delete '/home/tglase/.toprc' On another system which still has 2:3.3.15-2 the exact same file works, so this is a recent regression. -- System Information: Debian Release: bullseye/sid APT prefers buildd-unstable APT policy: (500, 'buildd-unstable'), (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 5.4.0-3-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=C (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/lksh Init: sysvinit (via /sbin/init) Versions of packages procps depends on: ii init-system-helpers 1.57 ii libc6 2.29-10 ii libncurses6 6.1+20191019-1 ii libncursesw6 6.1+20191019-1 ii libprocps8 2:3.3.16-1 ii libtinfo6 6.1+20191019-1 ii lsb-base 11.1.0 Versions of packages procps recommends: ii psmisc 23.3-1 procps suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
