I agree completely... 

A side comment: It seems that my lack of action in the past few days has been 
interpreted as MIA and someone uploaded a new version today...

That's "understandable" (my health is flaky right now), but the person 
uploading the new version didn't do a proper job closing bugs, since they were 
already jumping the gun... ☹️

Okay, I probably shouldn't feel so attached to the packages that I maintain... 
Or, perhaps, I should (after all, it is the sense of responsibility that make 
us care about a Free operating system, after all)...

Okay, sorry for venting my feelings here...
