Dear Maintainer,
dh-python* does not currently parse DH_OPTIONS.
debhelper(7) somewhat confusingly states:
DH_OPTIONS
Anything in this variable will be prepended to the command line
arguments of all debhelper commands.
When using dh(1), it can be passed options that will be passed on
to each debhelper command, which is generally better than using
DH_OPTIONS.
What it *actually* means is that dh_* tools need to parse DH_OPTION
and treat it *as if* it were prepended to the command line arguments.
This means dh_python* need to parse them too to be fully compatible
with other debhelper workflows.
P.S. I may have some patches pending for this.
