Package: libslurm-dev Version: 19.05.5-1 Severity: serious User: debian...@lists.debian.org Usertags: piuparts
Hi, during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from 'stable'. It installed fine in 'stable', then the upgrade to 'sid' fails because it tries to overwrite other packages files without declaring a Breaks+Replaces relation. See policy 7.6 at https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-relationships.html#overwriting-files-and-replacing-packages-replaces This test intentionally skipped 'testing' to find file overwrite problems before packages migrate from 'unstable' to 'testing'. >From the attached log (scroll to the bottom...): Preparing to unpack .../libslurm-dev_19.05.5-1_amd64.deb ... Unpacking libslurm-dev (19.05.5-1) ... dpkg: error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/libslurm-dev_19.05.5-1_amd64.deb (--unpack): trying to overwrite '/usr/include/slurm/slurmdb.h', which is also in package libslurmdb-dev 18.08.5.2-1 dpkg-deb: error: paste subprocess was killed by signal (Broken pipe) Errors were encountered while processing: /var/cache/apt/archives/libslurm-dev_19.05.5-1_amd64.deb Since libslurmdb-dev is gone, the B+R can be unversioned. cheers, Andreas
