Package: hledger Version: 1.14.2-1 Severity: normal I noticed the man page references to hledger_journal(5), but man 5 hledger_journal does not work.
I was going to say it's not included in the binary package, but actually it is, because hledger embeds in its binary all its documentation and hledger help journal will display it. That is documented on the man page, but you'd have to read the whole man page to find out about it. (Or the source code, which is actually how I found it.) I don't see much reason to not include the documentation as regular documentation files in this package? (There are good reasons[2] for hledger to embed the documentation in the binary. One is that, when installing it from source with cabal, limitations in cabal make installing man pages and stuff hard enough that it's probably not worth the bother[1]. That reason does not apply to this package though.) -- System Information: Debian Release: bullseye/sid APT prefers unstable-debug APT policy: (500, 'unstable-debug'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 5.3.0-3-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_USER, TAINT_OOT_MODULE, TAINT_UNSIGNED_MODULE Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages hledger depends on: ii libatomic1 9.2.1-22 ii libc6 2.29-8 ii libffi6 3.2.1-9 ii libgmp10 2:6.1.2+dfsg-4 ii libtinfo6 6.1+20191019-1 hledger recommends no packages. hledger suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- see shy jo [1] I say, having done it. [2] Another being that it lets hledger balance --help output an excerpt of the man page documenting the balance command, which is really quite nice.
