Hello Samuel, > And the installation log on a freshly installed box confirms that > default configuration:
oh, right; perhaps I misread. Yes, it said that (when purging it all then installing it again), and etckeeper reports only K symlinks in rc*.d/ directories. Sorry about the confusion. > Ok, so that path varies with environments... It does, but things all work out: > - only the dummy, generic, and mary-generic modules get enabled. You > need to let apt install the recommended speech-dispatcher-espeak-ng > package, in order to get at least one speech output backend. this did the trick, both spd-say and orca (with musescore3) now work. I reported this as success to MuseScore upstream, and so besides #948676 and AudioOutputMethod "alsa" in /etc/speech-dispatcher/speechd.conf (possibly), things work. Feel free to lower severity of #948679 (this one) accordingly, as it starts fine as regular user. bye, //mirabilos -- tarent solutions GmbH Rochusstraße 2-4, D-53123 Bonn • http://www.tarent.de/ Tel: +49 228 54881-393 • Fax: +49 228 54881-235 HRB 5168 (AG Bonn) • USt-ID (VAT): DE122264941 Geschäftsführer: Dr. Stefan Barth, Kai Ebenrett, Boris Esser, Alexander Steeg
