Would you be opposed if I reverse the logic of this check? Until the contemplated features are implemented, the tag would be issued only when sources are present. That is the standard for uploads anyway. (Tong's case is unusual, and not acceptable on mentors.d.n or with FTP Master). The diagnosis would also become more 'certain'. The tag 'statically-linked-binary' may have made great sense when resources were constrained, but I don't even think it should be an error any more, especially not for a tag classed 'possible'. My adverse position towards the tag is supported by user statistics. On lintian.d.o, it was overridden 189 out of 192 times. Kind regards Felix
