Package: dput Version: 1.0.3 As the first-time uploader when I saw the error message of
Package has already been uploaded to ftp-master on ftp.upload.debian.org Nothing more to do for dbab_1.3.3-1_source.changes I thought I should delete my package from ftp.upload.debian.org, the same as I delete my package from mentors.debian.net. However, as explained by Paul in the following enclosed email, it was not the case. "it should have a better error message for this situation or have a confirmation prompt or something", suggested by Paul. and I would add that, better error message would be good for mentors.debian.net as well, apart from ftp.upload.debian.org. Please consider. PS. I filed the bug against dput Version: 1.0.3, however, it was dput 1.0.1ubuntu1 that I was actually using. I.e., the latest dput from ubuntu, just to be honest. ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Paul Wise - p...@debian.org Date: Sat, Jan 4, 2020 at 7:56 PM Subject: Re: How to delete my package from ftp.upload.debian.org To: Debian Mentors List <debian-ment...@lists.debian.org> Cc: Thorsten Alteholz <deb...@alteholz.de> On Sat, Jan 4, 2020 at 5:10 PM Tong Sun wrote: > How to delete my package from ftp.upload.debian.org? Usually that means using dcut (from devscripts), but in this case the package is no longer in the upload queue so you cannot remove it from there. > -------- > Package has already been uploaded to ftp-master on ftp.upload.debian.org > Nothing more to do for dbab_1.3.3-1_source.changes > -------- This error message is solely based on the files on your local system, if you want to reupload the same .changes filename, you will need to delete the corresponding .upload file. Please also file a bug/patch against the upload tool that you are using, it should have a better error message for this situation or have a confirmation prompt or something.
