we are waiting for upstream to release a new version: in 0.2.6 upstream no longer shipped the doc/ directory, which the package needs to create the -doc package. if we remove the commands to build the documentation, the package will emit a empty-binary-package tag, which is part of the auto-reject tags (https://ftp-master.debian.org/static/lintian.tags). the fix is already merged upstream, we just need them to cut a new release (proceeding slowly during the holidays period, understandably).
