Package: tinycdb Version: 0.74-1 I'm producing a package (libchiark-tcl-1) which contains a .so linked against tinycdb. Unfortunately, at present this won't work on many architectures because tinycdb.a is compiled without -fPIC and no _pic version is provided.
Alternatively, fixing #316253 would work for me too. The easiest fix would be to simply compile everything with -fPIC all the time. This would have a small performance penalty on some architectures.
