The transition to 2.26 and the independent web processes als breaks luakit in several ways discussed in https://github.com/luakit/luakit/issues/804. I strongly suspect (though I've not tried it because rebuilding webkit is such a pain) that including luakit in the client list in force-single-process.patch would fix this.
