Sorry for the late reply.

I was able to reproduce the  bug.  Actually I  can hear a clean output
from the  right   channel,  but  I confirm   the  hum  from  the  left
one. Unfortunately there is  no new upstream release  to check  if the
issue has been fixed, and the latest one is dated back to Feb 2004 :/

I'll try to have a look to the source code to understand what happens,
but I'm a bit  busy at the moment. In  the meantime if you can, please
try to  simply recompile the  original upstream source, there might be
some library or configuration.
