Package: gdb Version: 8.2.1-2+b3 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
Section 12.1 of Debian Policy states: Each program, utility, and function should have an associated manual page included in the same package. The package "gdb" is in violation of that policy since the man page is not in the same package, but in the gdb-doc package. I expect man pages for programs to be available without needing to install additional packages. Please fix this package to follow Debian Policy. -- System Information: Debian Release: 10.2 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.19.0-6-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_AU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_AU:en (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages gdb depends on: ii libbabeltrace1 1.5.6-2+deb10u1 ii libc6 2.28-10 ii libexpat1 2.2.6-2+deb10u1 ii libipt2 2.0-2 ii liblzma5 5.2.4-1 ii libncursesw6 6.1+20181013-2+deb10u2 ii libpython3.7 3.7.3-2 ii libreadline7 7.0-5 ii libtinfo6 6.1+20181013-2+deb10u2 ii zlib1g 1:1.2.11.dfsg-1 Versions of packages gdb recommends: ii libc6-dbg [libc-dbg] 2.28-10 Versions of packages gdb suggests: ii gdb-doc 8.2.1-1 ii gdbserver 8.2.1-2+b3 -- no debconf information
