cal and ncal both show the calender switching from julian to gregorian when
called without options

However ncal with -b loses the change of celender, and shows the gregorian
for the full month. Expectation is that -b only changes the layout, not the 
choice of calender type. Experimentation finds it uses gregorian on earlier
dates also
