This package seems to have an active upstream and a user base
in Debian so I'd much rather see it return to a usable state than remove
it.
I recently started to use this package, and am interrested to see it
working (hopefully with less crashes). I’ve just built the last upstream
release with wxwidgets3.0-gtk3 and I’m currently running and testing it.
I’ve pushed the repository to [Salsa], and I’m confident I’ll be able to
upload it soon (there are over 100,000 lines of code changed, so I need
some time to review it anyway).

Sounds like there is demand to keep this package, so closing this bug.
The wxWidgets transition is complete anyway - the GTK2 packages have been
removed.
