THANK YOU and whoever else is involved in maintaining this. Just letting you know that I appreciate the work here. I don't work for Google, but I do use Distroless [1], a lightweight Debian-based container runtime that uses snapshot to have reproducible builds, so this was definitely annoying to work around.
