I noticed that navigating directories in netrw no longer works when liststyle 3 (tree style) is used and a pattern to ignore hidden files is set: let g:netrw_liststyle=3 let g:netrw_list_hide='^\..*' With this minimal vimrc, when you open netrw (:e .) it only shows "../" and the name of the current directory, which can not be entered (it will display the same list again). This was still working with vim in buster (2:8.1.0875-5). Kind regards, Reiner
