 Indeed, it's not possible at all with the current format of the
 database to monitor what's in the library directory.  But I must also
 add that this doesn't work on iTunes neither.  :)
   (The database is stored in .gnome2/rhythmbox/rhythmdb.xml.)

 Maybe this is fixed in 0.9, but it's currently not satisfiable in
 Debian.

 Should I leave the bug open?  I think upstream knows about it and is
 already half-overflown by bugs half-not developing that much any more.
 If you don't mind, I'll close the bug and let upstream implement the
 "rescan library directory" feature if they want / have the time to.
