Aha, thank you for quickly investigating - yes, that other bug certainly looks relevant. So very likely something fixable by constraining versions of a couple of dependencies to be sufficiently new but I could easily have misjudged the degree we expect such mixed-version systems to work at all, may not be enough worth the maintenance effort.
