Thanks for taking the trouble to deal with this! The patch would work as it is, but I've thought of another complication: I might be reading this template when no package installation is occurring. For a start, I might give an answer, wait for wireshark to be installed, read the README file, and then decide to run "dpkg-reconfigure wireshark" to get the same prompt again and give a different answer... So instead of saying "after the package installation is finished" you might change it to something like: For more detailed information please see - /usr/share/doc/wireshark-common/README.Debian. + /usr/share/doc/wireshark-common/README.Debian.gz once the package is + installed. -- JBR with qualifications in linguistics, experience as a Debian sysadmin, and probably no clue about this particular package
