Package: libasound2-plugins
Version: 1.1.8-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

aplay -L reports that I have two HDMI audio channels:

hdmi:CARD=PCH,DEV=0
    HDA Intel PCH, HDMI 0
    HDMI Audio Output
hdmi:CARD=PCH,DEV=1
    HDA Intel PCH, HDMI 1
    HDMI Audio Output

That is indeed correct, but trying to use them I end up with

alsa-lib: dlmisc.c:287:(snd1_dlobj_cache_get) Cannot open shared library
  /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/alsa-lib/libasound_module_pcm_hdmi.so ((null):
  /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/alsa-lib/libasound_module_pcm_hdmi.so: cannot
open shared object file: No such file or directory)

It seems the plugin is missing here. The normal audio device works in some
configurations, but has no information on the capabilities of the connected
device.

   Simon
