can you still reproduce this problem?

I tried repeatedly to reproduce it on my systems, but found that udev
loads the loop module and creates device nodes as expected. If you can
still reproduce it, can you please check: 1) Is the latest version of
the udev package installed? 2) Does the loop module appear in lsmod
output after the first loop mount? Another thing to try would be to run
mount under strace when it fails. This should expose the source of the
problem. Please send the output if you do.
