Well, actually, even without the binNMU, the chosen version number would be considered as a downgrade (because of the tilde): $ if dpkg --compare-versions 4.2.5-7 lt 4.2.5-7~exp1 ; then echo yes ; else echo no ; fi no > This is not the version that will be uploaded > to Debian, that will be -8. Well, I > guess you can still test it, since you need to install the deb manually > anyway. I grabbed https://people.debian.org/~cts/deb/gle-graphics_4.2.5-7~exp1.dsc https://people.debian.org/~cts/deb/gle-graphics_4.2.5-7~exp1.debian.tar.xz and, after taking a look at the differences with respect to the package currently in Debian unstable, I fixed the version string and rebuilt the binary package. I tested the resulting package: it seems to fix the [dependency on obsolete Qt4] bug, the [libgs search] bug, and also the [GUI segfault] bug! [dependency on obsolete Qt4]: <https://bugs.debian.org/874901> [libgs search]: <https://bugs.debian.org/935720> [GUI segfault]: <https://bugs.debian.org/935913> Please prepare a new Debian revision (4.2.5-8) with these patches and with appropriate Closes directives in the changelog, and upload it to unstable! Of course, I would also like to recommend the upstream developers to incorporate the (non Debian-specific) patches into the next official version of GLE. Thanks for taking care of the package.
