Please let me precise the problem.
Once the main installation process is finished you get into the options of 
installing the boot record.

Following message gets displayed:

  The following other operating systems have been detected on this computer: 
[......]
  If all of your operating systems are listed above, then it should be safe to 
install the boot loader to the monster boot record of your first hard drive. 
  When your computer boots, you will be able to choose to load one of the seas 
operating systems on your new system.
  Install the GRUB boot loader to the master boot record? <Yes> <No>"

Everybody would understand that the next step would install directly the GRUB 
loader to the hard disk,
Pretty nobody would expect that the next step would be asking where to install 
the GRUB loader!

So, if you need the boot loader installed on the USB stick, it is natural to 
answer that question with <No> instead of <Yes> .

Then you come into the confusing process displaying the UUIDS and telling that 
you must install GRUB...

If you answer <Yes>, then the process is straightforward.

IMHO this can easily be improved as requested in my first mail.
