Returned? We have never been on one AIUI, or at least not in my time
here.

I think that there would be other excellent reasons why we would want
to release specific changes outside of this and not be limited to a
version in backports (that could be delayed by transitions, etc.) that
would not be offset by having to do a small bit of admin when we add a
new dependency.
