Package: mc
Version: 1:4.6.1-2
Severity: important

Hi

My locales are set to pl_PL, with the ISO-8859-2 charmap. When virewing any file
using ISO-8859-2 characters, both internal mc viewer and editor shows some
strange
stuff instead of the 8bit chars. For example a such a test file:
        ęóąśłżćń
is displayed as:
        ^ó^[B|^D

However, if I recode the file to UTF-8 and switch the locale to pl_PL.UTF-8
then mc displays it correctly.

Best Regards,
robert
