That's rather vendor specific. But... I'll think about adding .cu.

When I include that one line in a .php file, the $route gets colored
cyan, and '/pages/*' gets colored brightyellow (as are the other four
strings in single quotes). Nothing "breaks" for me. What exactly is
broken for you?
By the way, what version of nano (on those servers) are you using?
