It is true that I did not give a heads-up for the change. I believe this complaint and other implications such as nullok_secure stopping to work without adding /etc/securetty are really minor issues and should not have delayed the change in login. Dropping securetty support in PAM is also tracked at #674857 and Sven recently raised the issue of the complaint there, too. Steve, would you like me to do something more in login to help users?
