+1 on this. Just stepped into this problem when a PDF was suddenly opened with, of all crazy options, libreoffice. I ended up dumping the following into mime/packages/zathura: application/pdf; zathura %s; test=test -n "$DISPLAY" ; nametemplate=%s.pdf; priority=7 application/x-pdf; zathura %s; test=test -n "$DISPLAY" ; nametemplate=%s.pdf; priority=7 I *think* you'd want to have priority 5 in the distribution here, just as mupdf has.
